The Saint Philip Parish Men’s Retreat will be held September 19-21 at Saint Paul of the Cross Retreat Center on the Southside.

If you have never attended here are five reasons to consider attending the retreat

1. Time to reflect in quiet prayer
2. Time to enjoy good food and great dining
3. Time to meet and network with others
4. Time to celebrate the Sacraments even if it has been a while
5. Time to renew your faith and strengthen your relationships

New Parent and Young Couple Social: Celebrate the gift of family where we first discover we’re made to love and be loved, and called to something greater.

Join us for a relaxed meet-and-greet on Saturday, September 20 after the 5:30pm Mass at Ascension. If you’ve recently celebrated your child’s Baptism, come connect with other young families over light refreshments and good conversation. 

Reach out to the Office of Faith Formation at 412-922-6388 for more information or to RSVP.

Faith Formation Monday Night Sessions will begin on September 22 from 6:30pm to 7:45pm to register call 412-922-6388.

You should register your child if:

• You would like your child to participate in the Sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation in 2025 or 2026.

• You would like your child to grow in the faith using age-appropriate interest activities and lessons with other children

• You would like your family to begin to practice the faith again after recovering from the Pandemic

• You have a young child with special needs whom you would like to receive the Sacraments

Exciting News! Faith Formation offers a catechetical ministry tailored for children with special needs. The main sessions will be held on Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. We are also flexible and can accommodate individual needs and schedules to best support each child and family. If you have a child who could benefit from this special education faith formation, contact MaryAnn Garfold at 412-922-6388 for more details.

The Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA) is intended for both adults and children who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God. They embark on a journey of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, please call 412-922-6388.

Join us at the St. Philip Parish Picnic, on Sunday, September 28 on the Ascension church campus for food, fun, music & fellowship!

Mark your calendars for a day of fun and fellowship at the annual Saint Philip Parish Picnic on September 28. The festivities will run from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, with delicious food served from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

Food & Drinks: Enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, sides, and beverages—all provided at NO cost to you!

Activities: There’s something for everyone! Join in the fun with games, crafts, music, and a 50/50 raffle. Don’t miss out on BINGO starting at 3:00pm!

Dessert Table: We kindly ask each family to bring an item for the dessert table to share.

Reservations: If you plan on attending, please make a reservation by filling out the form in the weekly bulletin and placing it in the collection basket or by calling the Parish Office of Faith Formation at 412-922-6388.

Deadline: The deadline for reservations is Monday, September 22, 2025.

Come join us for a wonderful day of community and celebration. We can’t wait to see you there!
