The third Eucharistic and Marian Program will be held on Wednesday, August 13, at Ascension Church at 6:30pm.
There will be an hour of Adoration in which the rosary will be prayed, and the remaining time will be spent in silent reflection with our Eucharistic Lord.
After the Blessed Sacrament is reposed, all are welcome to come into Conner Hall to view a 30-minute video about Our Lady of Knock, Ireland, narrated by Michael O’Neill, known as the EWTN Miracle Hunter. Deacon Joe Allen will also comment on his recent trip to Ireland. Come and enjoy this time with Our Lord, Our Lady, and Deacon Joe.

The Holy Day of Mary’s Assumption
On Friday, August 15, the Church throughout the world will celebrate the annual Holy Day of Mary’s Assumption into the glory of the Lord. This is always a joyful day as we honor the Blessed Mother and remember her tremendous importance in the life of Jesus our Savior – and the importance of her Assumption.
Friday, August 15 is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholic Christians to participate in the Liturgy. Our Liturgy schedule will begin Thursday evening, August 14, at 4:00pm at Saint Philip and then 5:30pm at Ascension.
On August 15, we will celebrate the Holy Day Liturgy at 8:00am in Saint Philip church. Finally, the evening Holy Day Mass will begin at 7:00pm at Ascension.
Please mark your calendar now, and join us for the Assumption Holy Day Liturgy this week!

August 16 and 17 is our Sixth Annual Summer Food Drive offering opportunities for you to donate non-perishable food items at each Mass and during a drive-through event in the Wolbert Auto Repair parking lot.
Paper bags will be available at the churches this weekend with a list of suggested donation items.
We are most in need of the following items: peanut butter (12 oz. jars), jelly, spaghetti sauce, canned tuna, mac & cheese, chunky soups, condensed soups (chicken noodle & tomato), canned fruit, baked beans, canned vegetables (green beans, corn & peas) and Spaghetti O’s. Please do not donate any expired food as it will have to be thrown away. While we will accept items that are not on the list, we respectfully request that you primarily donate the listed items. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and generosity!
Vincentians will be available before all Masses on August 16 and 17 to collect your donations, or you can drop off your donations during our drive-through event on Saturday, August 16 from 10:00am to 12:00 noon in the Wolbert Auto Repair (formerly Knights of Columbus) parking lot.
We are in need of high school students to volunteer at the drive-through event. You do not need to volunteer for the entire event. Volunteers will collect donations from cars and sort and date check the donations. This is a great opportunity for students who need service hours! If you are interested, please call or text our hotline at 412-444-8140 or email us at svdp.saint.philip@gmail.com.

Our second annual Saint Philip Parish Summer Barbecue has been scheduled for Sunday afternoon, August 24, in Conner Hall.
Once again, our expert parish cooks will be offering a generous combination of meats and side dishes and beverages. You’ll be able to dine with us in Father Conner Hall at Ascension – or order take out for dinner at home.
Thanks to our parish volunteers and staff, this will be the perfect meal to celebrate the “end of summer” and the cookout season – without your cleaning your own grill.
Please plan to join us for this special parish event! Mark your calendar now. Find more information and a Parish Barbecue Order Form in the parish bulletin!
